Do you believe in fairies?

Our house was visited by a fairy last night. Not the tooth fairy, though she will be making her way here soon. Brianna has two loose teeth that she has been wiggling for a couple of weeks now.

The binky fairy dropped by our house to leave Katie 3 dollars under her pillow. 1 dollar for each binky that had been confiscated earlier that day.

There was lots of crying and gnashing of teeth when Katie realized her precious stash had been stolen.

She was highly concerned that her binkies might have gotten into the wrong hands and that whoever came across them might get her germs.

She did not like the idea that they were so easily discarded by her mother. She stated numerous times that it was incredibly unfair, even if she was 4.5 years old and going into kindergarten next school year.

That is when the light bulb went off ever so brightly above my head!

I said, but Katie, the binky fairy knows that you have “given up” your binkies and if you go to bed right now, with no more tears, when you wake up there might be money under your pillow!

Katie went straight to bed, after also making me promise to let let her have a playdate with Carson today, and was fast asleep before I knew it.

I then made sure that I placed the 3 dollars under her pillow.

She woke up super early this morning and was beaming from ear to ear with her new “earnings” safely tucked away in her piggy bank!

If I had known it would be that easy, I would have invited the binky fairy into our home a long time ago.
