Do you have a Dinosaur?
I used to play cards with my Mom. We would play Rummy 500, almost everyday when I was a teenager. I won a lot, feeding that competitive side that I have.
In fact, that was one of the activities Brian and I did together too. Much more competitive though, as he wanted to win just as much as me!
I would also help my Mom do the crossword puzzle in the paper. I loved it when I actually knew something, crossing off the clue, writing in the answer.
It was special time for me and my Mom and they are very happy memories for me!
Last night Brianna wanted to play iSpy Go Fish, by the time I got Alex to bed, Katie had gotten home from soccer practice and it was time for bed.
Instead of being a bedtime dictator like I usually am, I decided that me and the girls were going to play the game.
We played two rounds and it was wonderful.
Laughter surrounded the table as we asked each other for frogs, monkeys, school buses, seashells and lots more.
Brianna’s competitive edge came out in declaring victory after both games. Katie happy that she was in second and me, being the nice Mom that I am came in third, despite the fact that I could of mopped the floor with both of them! (I said I liked to win!)
It brought back the memories of my special time with my Mom and I hope that my kids look back at this and all of our other special memories with love and happiness too!

That’s sweet! I love that playing games together is a bonding experience. We didn’t do it a ton growing up (we’re all too competitive!) but we did, and still do, put puzzles together.
We play games together once or twice every couple of months and it’s always a competition. None of us like to lose so we take the “fun” games very seriously. LOL!
