TWOC: Shopping…

Twelve Weeks of Christmas

If you want to check out the Twelve Weeks of Christmas blog carnival, click on the above link! It has all the info there at Keely’s blog, plus you can link up your post for others to see too :)

Christmas shopping is something I am not a fan of, I usually end up procrastinating on getting gifts for everyone except the kids.

I do three kinds of shopping!

Number 1: Black Friday!

  • I have braved the crazy crowds on Black Friday for the last two years, thanks to the help of my MIL Debbie. Christmas shopping for the kids and getting big things for me, like my pink Dyson! I’m sort of sad about it this year because we won’t be going to PA for Thanksgiving this year. So no Black Friday madness for Debbie and I together, I’ll miss the tradition. But if I see some good deals I will definitely be going out this year alone!

Number 2: Online Shopping!

  • This is my favorite kind! I get to wear pj’s and sit in front of the computer, adding things to my cart, paying with a click of the mouse and waiting like an excited child for the UPS man to show up on my doorstep with all my wonderful goodies! Last year I spent a lot of time on Amazon and American Girl.

Number 3: Christmas Eve Shopping…

  • Why do I do this? Seriously, this is the point of desperation! When I have procrastinated so badly, I run out to the store along with all the other procrastinators and just grab anything I can!  There are a few family members that I have the hardest time shopping for, these are the ones that usually get shopped for on Christmas Eve. I’m hoping that I can avoid going this route this year..

This is why I love making presents! But even that usually ends up last minute, getting supplies and rushing trying to get cute things churned out by the kids, things that are extremely messy and take forever long to dry!

Procrastinators unite…….tomorrow!

How about you, how do you Christmas shop?

  • I’m laughing out loud at your description of some of the things we all do (if we’re honest about it). I hope this year you can avoid shopping on Christmas Eve! I’ve done it and I don’t like it!
Best wishes with whatever crafts you have going, too!

  • I like to do some online shopping, too! Hope you get it all done before Christmas Eve this year!!

  • Maureen:

I’m a huge procrastinator too, but I find I have so much to get ready for at Christmas it’s too stressful to procrastinate! It seems like I’m not just getting myself ready, I’m getting us all ready! One of my sisters LOVES shopping on Christmas Eve. It takes all kinds to make a world!

We don’t have Black Friday here in Canada. I think I would enjoy it, but my husband would hate the crowds.

  • if you read yesterday’s post, you know i love black friday too! but i also enjoy online shopping b/c you can get ANYTHING. i’ve never done xmas eve b/c we are usually so busy my head would explode if i tried to squeeze in shopping too!

  • Oh no! Christmas Eve shopping is the worse if you HAVE to find something. But I like going out that day to just pass time until the party that night.

  • Vic:

Woman! I don’t even want to think about Christmas shopping. I just want to go home for the holiday, honestly. I love love love shopping but I’ve learned from past experiences that the headache isn’t worth it especially at the last minute.

I never have enough money at the end of the day on my c cards so online shopping is out for me. I’ve never been good at keeping lots of money on my cards. I would like to move near you so you can teach me how to make blankets and pillows though:)

  • Sorry you won’t have a shopping buddy this year! And I have to say…every single time I open your blog your smile makes me smile! Thanks for that!

  • Jen:

Oh, I’m one of the crazy ones who love to shop on Black Friday! I usually stick to a couple of stores. This year I’ll be 36 weeks pregnant on this busy shopping day, so I may have to just stay in bed. I think I need to get on the ball and do some online shopping- soon!!!

    God Bless,
    Jen from God’s Shining Stars

  • I love to shop the day after Thanksgiving…even if I don’t buy anything. Have fun shopping. I am not a huge online shopper…happy shopping..

  • I loathe Christmas shopping and I procrastinate too. I’m a big fan of gift cards. I know. Sad.

  • Where’s my friend? I’m worried about ya. Please let me know your alright love:)
