About Veronica

Hi, welcome to my little slice of the internet.

I’m Veronica.

I usually go by V.

I’m 31.

Married to my amazing husband Brian for 9 years, he’s my best friend and he works very hard for our family of 5. He is a Philly sports fanatic and being his family, both married in and created, we are Philly sports fans too. He enjoys watching the Phillies, Eagles and Flyers live and on tv. He also follows blogs about them and writes his own blog, Eye on Philly Sports.

We have 3 beautiful children. Brianna (9), Katie (7) and Alex (3) are my life. I am incredibly blessed to be able to stay home with them, though I do enjoy the quiet structure that the school year brings. My children love being outdoors, playing sports, anything active really. As well as participating in anything to do with scotch tape, glue, markers and crayons and tiny bits of paper that they call crafts and I call inspired art work… or trash depending on whether it’s hung up properly or left on the floor. They also enjoy playing wii , nintendo ds, ps3 and my android phone (specifically angry birds!)

What can I say about myself.

I’m a lover. Family and friends are very important to me. I moved around a lot growing up and it taught me that it wasn’t where we were that mattered, but who we were with. I love spending time with friends and family and making new friendships.

I crochet like there is no tomorrow. I learned from my Nana, forgot and did what I thought was crochet for years, only to find out I was just doing slip stitch over and over. I have now learned the correct way to crochet (hey! that rhymes! i’m such a nerd) and I do it as much as I can. Have a little crochet shop as well and I’ll do custom orders!

I am a believer in Jesus Christ. He gave up His life on a cross so that I (and you should you accept) could have life redeemed. It is the ultimate sacrifice and He is my Lord and Savior. I am forever thankful for His gift. My family is heavily involved in our church, LCC. I have worked in the nursery for almost 10 years as well as help out with our Kid’s Life program prep team. Brian is an Elder and he also helps out with A/V and counting.

My first foray into the internet community was an email group for the band Third Eye Blind back in my freshman year of college, 1998. I was completely obsessed with them, saw them in concert (my first 1!) and even received a letter and pin in the mail from South America from one of the participants.

I graduated to a young moms message board when I became pregnant with Brianna at the tender age of 20 in 2000. I received so much friendly love and support and despite several board moves to different platforms we all stay in touch in a Facebook group and still offer love and support. It’s an amazing group of women.

Then I was on LiveJournal for about 4 years before deciding to take the plunge and move on to wordpress. I came up with a domain name, mayangelstar. May for the month I was born. Angel because my foster parents (before I became adopted) called me Angela because they said I looked like a little angel. Star because one of my very first shirts after being adopted had the saying, “A Star is Born”. My babyhood is a very important piece of my life. I was blessed that my biological mother decided to make her ultimate sacrifice by giving birth to me and giving me up, that I had such amazing foster parents for my first few months of life and that my adoptive parents are more than a girl could ever ask for! Every time I type my domain name I am reminded of how blessed I am to have lived the life I got to and get to live.

I love to read…daily.

I love to write and I hope to do it more now and in the future.

I also sell Ava Anderson Non-Toxic personal care products and cosmetics. You can read on that further if you click the link in the menu bar up top. You should check it out, you might learn some things about your family’s personal care products that at first might anger you, but there is a solution to the problem that is toxic chemicals in our personal care and cosmetics.

So that’s a bit about me.
