Summer Shenanigans Volume 1

Our rainy day turned out to be a whole lot of fun!

We ended up going to the movies at the dollar theater and getting there late, so we got tickets to Alice in Wonderland.

The new movie and time gave us 40 minutes to kill.

Brianna had noticed a Petland from the parking lot and suggested we go there.

The following ensued:

The girls fell in love with a kitten.

So did I. We all took turns holding and snuggling the cute little thing.

Sadly, Brian has already said the following many times over:

“Read my lips, no more pets!”

Alex touched the kitten for a millisecond before running amok in the store!

Too many animals to see.

Too many balls to take off the shelves!

Katie has been talking about this kitten non-stop. She desperately wants to bring it home.

She even came up with a plan of having her Nana bring her so she could buy it with her own money!

Alex enjoyed following this turtle all over the store.

This was one quick turtle too, it went everywhere.

Up and down aisles, from the front to the back of the store.

Brianna proud and in awe of the sweet sleeping kitty!

Katie wasn’t impressed, she was ready to take her turn regardless of waking the kitten from her nap!

I made sure we sat in the back so that if Alex disturbed the peace I could take him out of the theater.

We all shared a big drink and a medium popcorn.

Passed it back and forth.

Katie and Alex needed booster seats to see.

About 5 minutes into the movie Alex decided he was ready to run from seat to seat.

He climbed up on one and got stuck!

So I took him to the hallway.

Then back to the movie where I held and rocked him in the back until he fell asleep 30 minutes in.

He woke up during the credits.

The girls and I enjoyed Alice in Wonderland.

I like Tim Burton and Johnny Depp is always a classic in quirky roles!

There is nothing wrong with this!

High School Musical 3: Senior Year was released on DVD today!

I am so ashamed excited to finally have it in our posession! In fact I went out first thing this morning to Walmart to get it. Katie and I ate lunch while watching it. Brianna came home and rode her bike for a bit and then it was snack time and movie time! It’s on as I type this.

When I was watching the special feature on the DVD I teared up.

During an interview with Zac Efron on Live with Regis and Kelly, Zac stated that the mother’s of girls were more into it than the girls themselves.

Yes, I am 28 years old.

Yes, I am one of those mothers!

There is nothing wrong with this….. right?

Happy Valentine’s Day (It’s a giveaway)!

Brian and I already exchanged gifts this morning.

I was too excited to wait until tonight. I got Brian a card of course, but I actually wrote something inside besides my name, he was impressed! The movie Facing the Giants, a coupon for an extra long back rub,  a giant Reese’s peanut butter heart, and a Valentine’s themed nightie (for ME to wear!)

Brian got me a card, which he wrote in, he’s a writer and always writes something extra! The movie Fireproof and a box of chocolates.

I need to decide on dinner. Brian said we could go out with the kids or eat in take-out after the kids are in bed.  I think I want to order in, maybe Chinese food. I’m really in the  mood for some pot stickers and spring rolls. Plus, I’m thinking Reese’s blizzards for dessert while we snuggle up together and watch a movie. And of course, sometime in the evening I will have to model his V-Day gift, (wink, wink, nod, nod)!

I survived!

I was wondering why I was so emotional and depressed.

I did NOT want to do anything or go anywhere. I was barely getting on the computer, and I love my computer time.

When “she” showed up all the pieces came together. “She” can be such a hassle.  My hormones do NOT like to be disrupted. Now that my first post partum “Aunt Flo” has left the building, I can resume my life again!

Wahoo!

And this Saturday is Valentine’s Day, so to have “her” out of the way before then equals a double wahoo!

And in honor of Valentine’s Day I am doing another giveaway, one that I feel is highly important. So look for that soon :)

The highlight of my weekend was the Annual Scrap Weekend the my friend Stephanie throws. It was at church this year. I didn’t really attend last year. I hung out a bit and helped Ann-Morgan with her pages. The year before that was awesome.

This time around I didn’t even scrap.

I worked hard on Rachel’s hat and scarf, and it’s almost complete. I have the scarf to finish, but I can knock that out today. I need to get some more yarn, I ran out of the color.

I *finally* finished  the blanket for our family room! I started it forever ago and got done except for the last bit of edging. So I finished it up and weaved in all the ends! Go me! It is huge. It had to be big enough for Brian and I to share! And it’s so soft. I absolutely love it.

Friday night after getting organized, Kelly, Kendra, Michelle and I all went to see “He’s just not that into you“. Great movie, it is really funny. There were parts that were predictable, but all in all, it was just a fun movie. I recommend it for a girl’s night out! Saturday morning, we did breakfast at Bob Evan’s. My favorite meal of the whole weekend was lunch. Kelly, Kendra and I went to Max & Erma’s and I got the Tomato Mozzarella Chicken on Kelly’s reccomendation. It was fabulous. Seriously, a party in my mouth. I want to eat it again and soon! So if you are ever at a Max & Erma’s, you must try it! I got home around 10:30pm.

Brian did awesome. He even took all three kiddos to Dave and Buster’s for lunch and games. I was highly impressed!

I can’t wait until next year.

I think I might have been bit by the scrapbooking bug again. I went out and got some much needed adhesive. This is a good thing. I am way behind.

Alright, I’ve rambled on enough.

Happy Monday everyone!
