Is it bedtime yet?

What’s in your pantry?

No. Really. What’s in there?

For this week’s prompt, grab something out of your pantry and write a short piece – using all the words in the ingredients. It can be fiction or non-fiction, poetry or prose.

Make sure you join in and link up. It’s fun, I promise!

Today was challenging.

It was a challenge waking up at 12:30am to my dear sweet husband, after so nicely getting up to put Alex to bed when he woke up crying, informing me the reason Alejandro had been so upset was due to him puking up dinner all over his pajamas and bed.

It was a challenge waking up at 3:30am to my dear sweet youngest daughter waking me up ever so gently and informing me that she had thrown up all over her bed and the carpet.

It was a challenge cleaning up chunks of half digested mandarin orange segments from the sheets after letting them dry overnight, because I was too tired and had no desire to clean it up in the wee hours of the morning.

It was a challenge staying away from the two king-size chocolate confections of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and Milky Way sitting in the fruit bowl, when all I wanted was to overdose on sugar.

It was a challenge drinking only water, when all I wanted was to down the ice-cold Vanilla Coke Zero in the fridge.

It was a challenge cleaning and disinfecting everything, when all I wanted to do was take a nap.

Today was challenging.

But.

Tomorrow is a new day.

And The Winner Is…

Amy from Involuntary Smiles has won that cute little Snowman :)

I’m a winner too thanks to all of your thoughtful words and encouragement, coupled with an awesome girls night out at Starbucks followed by late night shopping at Walmart as well as a family and friend filled weekend.

My Aunt Jan was in town and the kids had a blast spending time with her. So did I :)

The kids enjoying the snowfall on Sunday!

I’m a happy camper again!

Which is a huge blessing because Christmas is right around the corner and between babysitting, kid school Christmas parties and getting ready for our trip to PA I have no time to be dragged down into the depths of depression right now.

Let’s Go Flyers! (Wordless Wednesday)

We were blessed with free tickets to the Flyers @ Blue Jackets hockey game on Monday.

Six rows from the glass  to the left of the net.

Sweet seats!

The Blue Jackets were beating the Flyers, who were not playing well…. at all.

I prayed fervently that they would just score at least one goal.

I didn’t even care if they won.

I just wanted one goal so that the kids could cheer for their team, especially Alex.

My prayer was answered.

And they showed us celebrating…. on TV!

Here is the screen shot:

Here is the YouTube video:

We are shown at 2:39 into the video.

How cool is that?

I just wish Katie had been tall enough and not behind Brianna to be seen too.

And a couple more pictures from the night:

Brian showing Alex the Flyers warming up.

I wish I had a picture of Alex standing at the glass, he was the perfect height to see and he was grinning ear to ear.

Alas, my phone battery was all but dead.

Not really sure what happened to the picture quality or why I’m making that crazy smile face.

The Flyers played the Sabres on Tuesday and won 6-3.

Why couldn’t they have done that Monday?!

Hiking in the Woods (Wordless Wednesday)

Saturday we took a little trip to a nature preserve in Dublin. The following pictures detail our fun. All of these were taken by my cell phone.

The creek bed is dry this time of year and the kids love walking it.

This is my “Did it capture?” face.

Father and Son. I’m so in love with them!

Brian running down the steep hill, after bringing Alex up there to see the school football field.

His facial expression is hilarious.

“Hole!”

Silly family.

Even sillier.

I love my kids.

Hmmmm?

Found an abundance of shells in the creek bed.

Shells.

Hand in hand.
