At least there are cheap Booritos!

It’s almost Halloween and I’m not a fan.

I don’t like scary movies because they get under my skin and continue to frighten me long after they are over. You think I would stay away from them, but if it’s on TV it taunts me in such a way that I can’t help myself, I must watch. Though I usually IMDb and Wikipedia to find out as much as I can about it therefore not being surprised at the scary stuff. Sometimes it works, sometimes not, okay mostly not. Which is why I should know better and not watch!

I’m afraid of the dark and for some reason Halloween night always appears to be darker than normal.

The neighbor who goes above and beyond. Constructs a scary dark tunnel, wears the scary masks, does the whole “chase people with a chainsaw” bit. In fact when I see him from my window, I chant a little mantra to myself, “It’s just Steve, It’s just Steve, It’s just Steve.” A great guy, just not when he’s trying to scare the living daylights out of me!

I always wait until the last minute to go costume shopping for the kids and then everything is picked over or too expensive. Like a $30 Hanna Montana wig worn once and only half the night, grrr. I need to get a jump on that this year to prevent overpaying!

That being said, there are some things I like about Halloween.

Kids dressed in adorable, cute costumes. The kind that make you ooh and aah in a sweet way. Their excitement.

Handing out candy while Brian takes the kids around the neighborhood. That’s right, I stay home, with all the lights on and something funny on TV!

The kids coming home with all that candy. Sorting it and eating as many Reese’s Peanut Butter cups as I can without them noticing!

This year trick-or-treat night is on Thursday instead of Sunday.

I’m happy about that.

We’ll probably head to Chipotle on the 31st, though they aren’t giving away free burritos this year. They are helping raise money for Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution. $2 a burrito, bowl, salad or tacos if you dress up as a horrifying processed food product.

I love getting a burrito bowl with black beans, chicken, tomato salsa, cheese, more cheese, sour cream and some guacamole and then a bag of chips. Yum!

Our Halloween Night in Six Words!

Foil hats equal free Chipotle Burritos!

Hope everyone had a fantastic Halloween! The kids enjoyed wearing foil hats, waiting in the car for 30 minutes while Brian waited in line. Then we joined him and waited for about 30 more minutes. It was the kids first time eating Chipotle, they enjoyed it saturated with ranch dressing and a lot of water, apparently they thought it was spicy! Alex absolutely loved his!

Our order totaled to $34, wearing foil on our head rendered it priceless!

In the words of Katie, “We don’t have to pay $1, sweet!”

Trick or Treat 2009

Brianna, Katie and Alex no longer existed in our household. They had been replaced by a pirate, Hannah Montana and Yoda. They were joined by their friends, Anakin Skywalker and a beautiful Mermaid, formally known as Grant and Addie.

While Brian and Peter took the kiddos around the neighborhood, Kelly and I stayed home to pass out candy and watch So You Think You Can Dance!

Great fun was had by all :)

Happy Halloween

If I get one more, I think it might be twins comments, I think I will jump off a cliff! I could barely sleep last night because I kept having dreams of getting U/S and there being two babies.. Even Katie’s prediction is boy and girl.. LOL.. Guess we will see next week. I had my first appt. today and it was just blood work and paperwork. No biggie.. My U/S is next Thurs. I also had an accident with a power drill today.. I’ll post the picture. I went crazy putting up a decorative rod and the tie-backs to match. On the last tie-back I slipped with the drill, which had a philips head bit in it and sliced my finger.. I was in hysterics. Brian had trouble understanding me I was crying so badly over the phone. It still hurts really badly.. We went to friends tonight and the guys all took the kiddos trick or treating.. Then we finished the night by playing guitar hero.. I just used the controller so as not to aggravate my finger..

I hope everyone is doing well..

Happy Halloween..
