A Snowy Day! (WW)
This snowy day Alex is getting over being sick.
Poor kiddo had the stomach flu yesterday and is still getting over it.
For a kid who has never thrown up before he did extremely well.
Only getting upset a few times with what was happening to him.
But last week we had a snowy day as well and he excitedly wanted to play with the snow.
We started with a big bowl of it at the kitchen table and lots of measuring spoons.
After 3 bowls of snow, he decided it would be much more fun to go outside and actually play in it.
He got dressed and donned all of his winter weather gear.
He enjoyed traipsing all over the yard, going down the slide but eventually insisted he have his baseball bat.
Even Emma went outside to check out the snow!
Alex made sure she came right back inside.
When he got too cold he came inside and snuggled into the blanket I made with some hot chocolate.
He enjoyed drinking it from a straw and watching his favorite show, Calliou.
Brianna playing Timez Attack Multiplication game on the laptop not wanting me to take her picture.
Katie intently watching and hopefully learning by osmosis!

It’s raining.. (Wordless & Wordful Wednesday)
It’s summer and it’s raining.
That could be a bad combination with the kids home all day long.
Boredom easily can set in and that usually means whining comes along with it.
I woke up this morning and looked out my bedroom window and knew I had to have a plan.
Three things came to mind.
1. Go to the movies, preferably the dollar theater.
2. Go bowling. We joined Kids Bowl Free this summer for occasions such as these, as well as got the family pass for the adults.
3. Go to open play at World of Bounce, a large warehouse with loads of inflatables.
Well my plans were somewhat overruled.
1. The movies are still in contention, as long as I’m willing to bring the 2 year old with me!
2. Bowling is out because hours start at 4pm today.
3. World of Bounce open play isn’t on Wednesday.
So far today…
The girls played Wii, while Alex held a remote and thought he was playing.
The girls have done their Summer Bridge Activities Workbook, while Alex colored with his own paper and pencil.
Alex watched some Caillou and his sisters surprisingly joined him.
They just ate some lunch.
Soon we will be headed to the movies.
I really wanted to visit Jason and Daphne in the hospital, but don’t want to bring the 3 kids with me.
They are going home today so maybe tomorrow I can go see them and visit with their new baby girl Naomi!
