  1. Yay! I bet you’ll love it!
It was pretty painfull when I got mine insertered but, it had been 2 years since I’d had a baby and the dr said I had the tightest cervix he’d ever seen. He had to clamp my cervix 3 times, ouch!!! But, I know it didn’t bother Ang at all. I bet you won’t have too much of a problem because it hasn’t been that long since you had a baby!
After that, wow is it awesome!!! I love it! I don’t even get my period anymore!!! Let me know how it goes!

  2. Ouch! That sounds so painful.. clamp and cervix… that gave me the shivers.. Did you take any drugs before going.. as in Motrin or Tylenol LOL.. I am hoping not to have my period on it! I still haven’t gotten it back yet.. Knocking on wood that it doesn’t come back at all!!!!

  3. How was it getting it inserted? It wasn’t to bad at all, there was one big cramp pain when they inserted the sound to measure and it was all done in about 5min and I was on my way after I layed down for a min or two (a precaution b/c some have passed out after the precedure)

How did you feel afterwards? I felt mild cramping right after and crampy for about a week with mild spotting

Do you like it? I love it. Nothing to forget to take like a pill

I wanted to go Mirena but I was like as much as I hate having a period I would still like it to show up. I would be worrying to much. If it wasnt for bad luck I would have no luck b/c I would be that 1% getting pregnant with and IUD inserted

  4. awwwwwwwwwww, me loves mirena!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn’t take anything and drove home 5 min after insertion, they spray your cervix with numbing spray…it stings a tiny bit and then you feel nothing. The pain is much less then a contraction but a bit more intense then a menstral cramp..best way I can think to describe it. Rach just got hers 2 weeks ago and had cramps for a few days and is fine now. I cannot tell you how much I LOVE my IUD! It is amazing. The few seconds of pain pales in comparison to worry-free sex! The spotting I had afterward was about a week of pink tinge on the tissue, didn’t even hit my panties. If we decide not to have another babe I will have another inserted when this one comes out. it is lovely! Good luck hun! Let me know if you have any more questions 🙂

  5. Hm, I’m not aware of what this is, but I’m gathering that it is a birth-control device.

Personally, I have issues with doctors and my vagina. I had to have my cervix frozen and a chunk scraped off once. And I had to have a colposcopy. They all caused cramping that I did not enjoy, obviously.

I have no problem remembering to take a pill every morning, b/c I’ve been doing it since sophomore year of high school with anti-depressants, so… I’m going with the pain-free alternative 🙂

  6. Ouch.. that just sounds painful! I’m really bad at taking the pill.. I take it everyday with my Zoloft but I don’t necessarily take it at the same time everyday..

Mirena is an hormonaly IUD.. Not looking forward to insertion, but I have had two kids vaginally so it shouldn’t be that bad! Plus it is 99.9% effective.. No forgetting to take it haha! It lasts for 5 years! But I will take it out sooner because we like the 3 year age gap between the kids! Plus 20% of women stop getting their periods on it and since I still haven’t gotten mine back because of breastfeeding (yay it’s been a 1 and 6 months since I’ve had that witch!!!) I’m hoping that I will be one of those 20%!!!

A few moments of pain.. definitely worth worry-free sex! Which I don’t have because I can’t remember to take that darn little pill the right way!

  7. You beat me to it! LOL When I called to set it up they scheduled me for “cultures” on Jan 5th. I researched and found out they are all cultures for STD’s. I wonder if I would have brought it up at my yearly appointment if I would have had to have the cultures since my MW knows me and my history or if it is a required procedure for my health plan?? Who knows, but either way make sure to post all the details so I know one more person’s view on what to expect! 😉
